Baby Moses in the Reeds - Lift the flap craft!

We recently did the story of baby Moses at toddler group and for craft we made a lift the flap colouring page. It was pretty quick to make and the kids loved finding baby Moses hiding behind the reeds and colouring him in.

I've attached the templates below, and you can download them via the links below, so you can have a go yourself.  All you need to do is...
  • Print off the Baby Moses background template on white card or paper. There is 2 Moses's on an A4 page, so cut it in half to make 2 A5 pages.
  • Then print the Reeds template on GREEN paper and cut out the reeds. Again there is 2 reeds on an A4 page.
  • Lay the reeds on top of Moses so he is hidden.
  • Now sticky tape along the bottom of the reeds and attach to the bottom of the Moses background so that you can open the flap to reveal Moses!
  • The kids can now colour Moses in!!

Play-dough!

We use play-dough for the craft at our toddler group quite a bit, and I'm often asked how to make it, so here is my mums play-dough recipe...enjoy!

1 cup of plain flour
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of salt
1 tablespoon of oil
1 teaspoon of cream of tartar
food colouring (you choose - use more or less to  make a stronger or paler colour)

Put everything in a saucepan and stir with a wooden spoon while heating. Keep stirring (it gets quite hard work as it thickens) until it gets to play-dough consistency, being careful not to let it burn to the bottom.

Turn it out, let it cool, then play!

If you wrap it in cling-film when not it use it will keep for a good few weeks!
